Training

We provide training for new starters on BSRBR-RA.

Required training for new research team members

There is a short mandatory training course for all new researchers working with the BSRBR-RA. All new members of research teams are required to complete this before access to the database is provided. Two versions of the training are available. The full training includes sections on Data Entry and Avoiding Queries. This should take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete. A shortened version is available for users working on the BSRBR-RA who will not be entering data. The videos have a voiceover so it is recommended that sound is turned on for the best training experience. Please use the green 'Complete Training' button on the final page to record the date of your training.

  • Training Video: Full Version - coming soon
  • Training Video: Short Version (no data entry) - coming soon

New starter training presentation

Here is a more detailed presentation which will take you through the main aspects of the study and some of the most important features of our website:

  • New Starter Presentation: Full Version - coming soon
  • New Starter Presentation: Short Overview of the Study - coming soon

Data entry training

There is a link to a 'Tutorial' on each data entry page within the BSRBR-RA database which opens an interactive guide on how to complete data entry. To access these interactive training sessions outside of the database, please visit the Interactive Database Tutorials page.

If you are interested in practicing data entry before starting on BSRBR-RA please contact us. We will be able to set up access to a training database with example questionnaires, to allow you to register a new patient and enter follow-up data. Please email the office at biologics.register@manchester.ac.uk if you are interested.

Avoiding queries

Once BSRBR-RA data entry is complete, the co-ordinating centre administrative team review each record to ensure it is complete. To avoid queries being raised for missing data, enter a 'Feedback' message to acknowledge each field where data has not been collected. A detailed guide on how this process works can be found on our Avoiding Data Queries page. There is also a short interactive training video:
